From Proto-Mongolic *dobtul-, compare Daur dortulgw (“to rush someone”).
Perhaps from the same root as давших (davših, “to advance”) and давхих (davhih, “to gallop”) which could be connected to Proto-Turkic *dabra- (“to hurry”), see Turkish davranmak.
