Cognate with Old Turkic 𐰀𐰕 (āz-, “to go astray, to lose one's way”), Karakhanid اازْماقْ (āzmāq, “to lose one's way”); Turkmen āzmak (“to go astray”), Turkish azmak (“go astray, be horny”), Chuvash урма (urma, “to lose mind, go mad”), etc.
