Usage notes
- Of the two ancient plural genitives of χεῖλος (kheîlos, “lip”) (uncontracted: τῶν χειλέων (kheiléōn) and contracted: τῶν χειλῶν), only the uncontracted is used in Standard Modern Greek: των χειλέων as plural genitive of χείλος.
- Other alternative for genitive plural, is the modern: των χειλιών (cheilión) of singular noun το χείλι (cheíli).
