Cognate with Manichaean Parthian [Manichaean needed] (ʾbyspʾr- /abespār-/) and Old Armenian ապսպարեմ (apsparem, to deliver up, hand over, entrust) (a loanword from Iranian). Ultimately from Proto-Iranian *spar- (to hand over, entrust) with a preverb.
