    • 1826, Wood, George, chapter X, in The Rambles of Redbury Rook, page 168:
      He was conveyed to one of our ships of war, and there he remained a few years, doing all kinds of drudgery, when, from his great activity in reefing the sails, and other seamen-like duties, he so far distinguished himself, as to obtain the good-will of his captain, who had him rated a Yddim.
