wiring loom

English

Noun

wiring loom (plural wiring looms)

  1. (electronics, automotive) A wiring harness, a bundle of wires that transmit signals or electrical current within a device.
    • 2015, Bloomsbury Publishing, The Boat Improvement Bible, page 108:
The next task is to pass the cable wiring loom through the boat. If you have ducting running along the inside of the hull this is ideal, but most boats will not be equipped with such luxuries, so you will have to find the best way through and then protect the cables with cable trunking (plastic protection).
  2. An insulating tube used to bundle individual wires into a wiring harness.
    • 2018 March 12 (last accessed) “Wire loom convoluted tubing”, in Nelco Cable Tie Products:
Standard wiring loom is split to allow for quick and easy wire insertion and access every time! Solid wire looms are also available upon request.
