  1. (law) A testimonial, letter of reference, proof of employment (written statement given by an employer to an employee stating certain facts of the employment and possibly containing an assessment).

Usage notes

In Finland, the minimum content of a työtodistus is regulated by law and it is very much the same as in e.g. the French certificat de travail. With the consent of the employee it may also contain a qualitative evaluation of his/her personal attributes.
