From Old Galician and Old Portuguese [Term?], from Hispanic Late Latin turbiscus, idem, attested by Isidore of Seville; from Vulgar Latin *turbiscāre, from Latin turbō, turbāre (“I disturb”). Compare Portuguese trovisco, Spanish torvisco.
