tregua

Galician
Etymology
From Old Galician and Old Portuguese tregua (13th century, Cantigas de Santa Maria), probably from Gothic ๐๐๐น๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ ๐ฐ (triggwa), inflected form of ๐๐๐น๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ ๐ (triggws, โtrue, faithfulโ); but attested Medieval Latin treuga[1] points perhaps to a West Germanic *trewwa, from Proto-Germanic *trewwล.
