train station

English

Noun

train station (plural train stations)

  1. (chiefly US) A place where trains stop for passengers to embark and disembark.

Usage notes

Train station now dominates in American use, and it has increased in popularity in British writing since the 1990s, but is still less common than railway station.[1] Train station is sometimes seen as an Americanism or a barbarism in British usage.[2]
