Verb

skyggja (weak verb, third-person singular past indicative skyggði, supine skyggt)

  1. to overshadow, to block a source of illumination, to produce a shadow
    Þú skyggir á mig.
    You're standing in my light.
  2. (impersonal, of dusk) to fall; to become dark
    Það fer að skyggja.
    Dusk is falling.
