Etymology

From Proto-Albanian *rāgnja, connected with Old Norse røkja (to take care of), Greek ἀρήγω (ἀrígo, to assist, to defend)[1]. Alternatively from Proto-Albanian *(a)ru(u)ē-, from Proto-Indo-European *h₂reu- (to get light, brighten). Compare Armenian արև (arew, sun)[2].
