From Proto-Albanian *raðā, from Proto-Indo-European *Hreh₁dʰ- (to arrange), hence Old Norse ráða, German raten (to advise; guess). Alternatively related to rreth wheel, close to Germanic *raðo row (cf. Old Norse rǫð (row), Middle Low German gerade (growing straight upwards)), also connected to *rathan wheel[1].
