quantum indeterminacy

English

Noun

quantum indeterminacy (usually uncountable, plural quantum indeterminacies)

  1. (physics) The indeterminacy associated with being in a mixed quantum state.

Usage notes

Quantum indeterminacy is typically contrasted with classical indeterminacy, which in a simple case, would be the lack of knowledge of whether some object satisfies one of the mutually disagreeing A or B, but in a quantum analysis, would be considered as satisfying a "mixture" of A and B.
