pomujo
Esperanto
Pronunciation
Audio (file)
- IPA(key): /pomˈujo/
- Hyphenation: pom‧u‧jo
- Rhymes: -ujo
Usage notes
The archaic usage of the suffix -ujo (“container for”) to make words for fruit trees comes from the Fundamento de Esperanto, but this was soon supplanted by making compounds with arbo (“tree”). Only early Esperanto materials use pomujo for "apple tree".
