papièr
Occitan
Etymology
From Old Occitan papier, from Latin papyrus (possibly via a northern Italian intermediate, itself a semi-learned derivative of Medieval Latin paperium[1]), from Ancient Greek πάπυρος (pápuros). Compare Catalan paper, French papier. See also the Old Occitan inherited forms pabil, pabel, from Vulgar Latin forms *papīlus, *papellus.
