like-for-like sales

English

Noun

like-for-like sales pl (plural only)

  1. The sales of a company that were achieved through the same activities as those of a previous reference period (typically the preceding year).
Sales at the company are up 50%, although only half of that increase is due to the recent acquisition. The other half is accounted for by like-for-like sales being up 25 percent.
