Etymology

Probably either borrowed from Italian cicoria[1] or perhaps from a Mozarabic form (cf. Spanish achicoria), from Vulgar Latin, Late Latin cichoria, from the plural of Latin cichorium, from Ancient Greek κιχώριον (kikhṓrion).
