Either from Proto-Indo-European *bʰrenk-, in Welsh hebrwng (to bring, to lead), Tocharian B prāṅk (to take away), Old English bringan (to bring) (for sense development compare English burden < Proto-Indo-European *bʰer- (to carry)), or a derivative of brej.
