Either from Proto-Indo-European *bʰrenk-, in Welsh hebrwng (“to bring, to lead”), Tocharian B prāṅk (“to take away”), Old English bringan (“to bring”) (for sense development compare English burden < Proto-Indo-European *bʰer- (“to carry”)), or a derivative of brej.
