Uncertain. Federico Corriente considers the Andalusian Arabic حَطْرَجْ (ḥaṭraj, foolish) that appears in Vocabulista in Arabico and that comes from the known root ه ت ر (h-t-r) (the same as مُهْتَر (muhtar, disordered in his intellect) in Lane’s lexicon).
