alãptedz

Aromanian

Alternative forms

  • alãptedzu, lãptedz, lãptedzu

Etymology

From lapti or from Vulgar Latin *allāctō (with the Aromanian suffix -edz), from Latin lactō. Compare Romanian alăpta, alăptez, French allaiter. Alternatively, it may have been a modern adaptation of the Romanian equivalent, itself also a neologism based on the French.

  1. I suckle, breastfeed, nurse.
