alerga

Romanian

Etymology

Probably from a Vulgar Latin root *allargāre, from Latin largus (abundant, plentiful). Other theories derive it ultimately from a derivation or alteration of Latin legāre or alegāre. Compare Aromanian alag, alãgari; compare also Albanian ljargon, Italian allargare.
