Etymology

From Mc ("son (of)", a form of mac) and Cormick, which is itself from corb ("chariot") + mac ("son").[1] The double patronymic "arose when the meaning of Cormac began to be lost sight of".[2] Many books of baby names also connect the name to an Irish word for "raven".[3][4]
