  1. (US, military, naval) Acronym of Fleet Operational Readiness Accuracy Check Site.: a facility for measuring the bearing and range accuracy of sensor systems on ships, submarines, and aircraft.
    The USN originally operated five FORACS ranges at Barking Sands, Hawaii, San Clemente Island, California, Fisher's Island, New York, Andros Island, Bahamas and St Croix, US Virgin Islands.
