From Old Irish Ebhroc, from Proto-Celtic *Eborākom (compare Welsh Efrog, from Old Welsh Caer Ebrauc, from Proto-Brythonic *Eβrọg), from *eburos (“yew”) + *-ākom (positive suffix).
