Dorian mode (uncountable)

  1. (music) a mode whose scale is the same as a minor key with the sixth scale degree raised by one half step, with the interval pattern:
    tone - semitone - tone - tone - tone - semitone - tone.
Starting on the note C, this produces a scale with the notes C, D, E♭, F, G, A, B♭, C.
