  • Both spellings, Cherusker and Cheruſker, do occur in different Fraktur texts.
    • In the second half of the 19th century and early 20th century, some states proscribed spellings like Basilisk, brüsk, Maske (Prussia, 1880; Bavaria, 1903; Prussia, 1908) while some states proscribed spellings like Maſke (Württemberg, 1861).
