From Ancient Greek ἀνά (aná, again) + αγάλλειν (agállein, to adorn oneself, be vain or crazy) (of uncertain origin: said to be of onomatopoeic/nursery origin, but compare Latin Acca Larentia and Sanskrit अक्का (akkā).
