From Old Assamese -অক (-oko), from a derivative of Sanskrit কৃ (kṛ, to do). Cognate with Bengali -কে (-ke).

Suffix

-অক (-ok)

  1. marks the accusative case for animate objects: to
    মেকুৰীটোৱে নিগনিটো খালে।mekuritüe nigonitük khale.The cat ate the mouse.

  2. marks the dative case in some cases: to

    ojódhjako goiya kotha kohibako houko .

    Killing this deer give me the skin,
    talk should be done going to Ayodhya.
    Bringing this skin I take to the city,
    then I get (the chance) to talk.
