Etymology

From Old Armenian -իչ (-ičʿ).

Suffix

-իչ (-ičʿ)

  1. Added to verbs to form agent nouns with the sense of "person or thing which does the verb". It is often equivalent to the English suffix -er.
  2. Added to nouns to form nouns denoting occupations. It is often equivalent to the English suffix -er.
