Old Armenian

Etymology

A "kind of a scrap-heap" of several Proto-Indo-European formations, including old thematic presents like բերեմ (berem, I carry)*bʰér-e-ti; ye-presents like ջնջեմ (ǰnǰem, I wipe, destroy)*gʷʰén-ye-ti (see *-yeti); causative-iteratives as գործեմ (gorcem, I work)*worǵ-éye-ti (see *-éyeti). Synchronically analyzable as stem vowel -ե- (-e-) + (-m).
