-ozik

  1. (verb-forming suffix) Appended to a noun or verb to form a verb.
    gitár (“guitar”) → gitározik (“to play the guitar”)
    tart (“to keep; to hold”) → tartozik (“to belong; to owe”)

Usage notes
  • (verb-forming suffix) Harmonic variants:
    -zik is generally added to words ending in a vowel
    -azik is added to some back vowel words
    -ozik is added to back vowel words
    -ezik is added to unrounded front vowel words
    -özik is added to rounded front vowel words
