Etymology

Probably from a Vulgar Latin *-idiō or *-izō, form of the suffix *-idiāre or *-izāre, ultimately from Ancient Greek -ίζειν (-ízein), but used as an infix in Aromanian conjugated forms of verbs. Compare Daco-Romanian -ez.
