Etymology
Via intermidiate *-nə̑k, from Proto-Mordvinic *-nmə̑k, from Proto-Uralic *-n-mVk. Under the influence of the 1st person singular possessive suffix -зе (-ze) a vowel was added in nominative, genitive and dative, the other cases contain this suffix without this innovation.[1]
