Old Georgian

Etymology

According to Fähnrich and Klimov (1985), from Proto-Kartvelian *as₁-. However, Klimov reconstructs Common-Kartvelian *as₁ir- (hundred) in his later works and adds that it might be borrowed from a Semitic source.
