քրթմնջեմ

Old Armenian

Etymology

Probably from *մունջ- (*munǰ-, to mutter, murmur), from մունջ (munǰ). The origin of *քրթ- (*kʿrtʿ-) is obscure; it may be related to *քորթ- (*kʿortʿ-) of շողոքորթ (šołokʿortʿ). The whole word has also been compared to Hittite 𒃼𒁲𒈪𒄿𒀀𒀜𒋫𒊑 (kardimiyattari, to be angry)
