From Proto-Indo-European *ǵónwih₁, dual number of *ǵónu, +‎ -ք (-kʿ).

ծունգք • (cungkʿ) pl

1. (anatomy) knee

   անկանիլ ի վերայ ծնգաց, ընդգճիլ ի ծունգս ― ankanil i veray cngacʿ, əndgčil i cungs ― to fall on one's knees, to kneel

   խոնարհեցուցանել զծունգս ― xonarhecʿucʿanel zcungs ― to bend the knee

   անկանիլ առ ծունգս ուրուք ― ankanil aṙ cungs urukʿ ― to fall or throw oneself at the feet of

   փարիլ զծնգովք ― pʿaril zcngovkʿ ― to clasp the knees

   ննջել ի մէջ ծնգաց ― nnǰel i mēǰ cngacʿ ― to sleep on the knees of

   ի ծնգաց կալ ― i cngacʿ kal ― to be kneeling

   ծնգովք կրկնելովք ― cngovkʿ krknelovkʿ ― with bended knees, upon one's knees

   ծունգք նորա կթուցեալ դեդեւէին ― cungkʿ nora ktʿucʿeal dedewēin ― his legs tottered under him

3. (music) a kind of Armenian note (round like a knee)

• The singular was expressed by ծունր (cunr).
• Nor Baṙgirkʿ Haykazean Lezui has also the forms ծունգն (cungn) and ծունկն (cunkn), together with genitive ծնգան (cngan) and instrumental ծնգամբ (cngamb). These forms are not attested, however.
