Ultimately a derivation from Proto-Turkic *dï̄n [1]. Cognate with Tatar тынчу (tınçu), Kazakh тыншу (tınşw, “stuffy, poorly ventilated”); compare also Kumyk тунчукъ (“stuffy, poorly ventilated”).
