Ultimately a derivation from Proto-Turkic *dï̄n [1]. Cognate with Tatar тынчу (tınçu), Kazakh тыншу (tınşw, stuffy, poorly ventilated); compare also Kumyk тунчукъ (stuffy, poorly ventilated).
