Quotes

  • Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
    with the cross of Jesus going on before.
    Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe;
    forward into battle see his banners go!
  • Jesus, give the weary
    Calm and sweet repose.
    With Thy tend'rest blessing
    May our eyelids close.
    • Reported in Josiah Hotchkiss Gilbert, Dictionary of Burning Words of Brilliant Writers (1895), p. 614.
