Tom Russell

Thomas George 'Tom' Russell (Los Angeles, 5 maart, 1953) is een Amerikaans singer-songwriter. Hoewel zijn werk onder Texas Country wordt geschaard, bevat zijn muziek sterke invloeden uit folk, Tex-Mex en cowboy-muziek uit het wilde westen.

Verscheidene van zijn liedjes werden opgenomen door andere artiesten, waaronder Johnny Cash, k.d. lang, Guy Clark, Nanci Griffith, Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Iris Dement, Dave Alvin en Suzy Bogguss.

Naast het maken van muziek schildert Russell Folk Art en publiceerde hij verschillende boeken.
