Savoy Brown is een Britse bluesrockband.
Geschiedenis
De band werd opgericht in 1965 door Kim Simmonds onder de naam Savoy Brown Blues Band. Ze maakten al vlug hun eerste demo-opnamen.
In de zomer van hetzelfde jaar traden ze samen op met Cream. In 1967 verscheen het eerste album Shake Down. Savoy Brown begeleidde John Lee Hooker op diens Engeland-tournee. In 1968 toerde de band met succes in de Verenigde Staten. Savoy Brown was daar populairder dan in het Verenigd Koninkrijk. In 1970 ging de band al voor de vijfde keer op de Amerikaanse tour, en er zouden nog enkele volgen.
In 1972 splitste de band Foghat zich af van Savoy Brown. In 1974 produceerde Savoy Brown het album Boogie Brothers met drie voortreffelijke gitaristen: Stan Webb, Miller Anderson en natuurlijk Kim Simmonds.
De band is ook na het millennium nog actief.
