News of the World Darts Championship
News of the World Individual Darts Championship was een van de eerste grootsopgezette dartscompetities, waarvan de inaugurele editie dateert van 1927. Van 1947 tot haar afschaffing in 1990 was het Engelands eerste nationale dartscompetitie. In 1996/97 kende het toernooi een kortstondige terugkeer, maar dat bleek eenmalig. Het News of the World Darts Championship was eveneens het eerste nationaal op de televisie uitgezonden dartsevenement, wanneer ITV het toernooi vanaf 1970 op het scherm bracht.
