Verhaallijn
Het verhaal gaat over een dominee die terugkeert naar zuiden en veel in contact komt met discriminerend gedrag van de overheid en orde handhavers tegenover zwarte mensen. Daarom bindt hij de strijd aan voor de positie van sheriff.[2]
