Kollywood
Kollywood (Tamil: கோலிவூட்) wordt vaak als naam gebruikt voor de Tamiltalige filmindustrie in India. Deze filmindustrie heeft als centrum Madras in Tamil Nadu, in het zuidoosten van India.
De naam is een parodie op het Amerikaanse Hollywood en het Indiase Bollywood. De "K" komt van de wijk Kodambakkam in Madras, het centrum van de Tamil filmindustrie.
Jaarlijks komen er ongeveer 100 films uit in het Tamil. Kollywood is de op twee na grootste filmindustrie in India, na Bollywood en Tollywood.
De belangrijkste acteurs en actrices in Kollywood zijn Vijay, Ajith, Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan, Nayanthara, Samantha Ruth Prahbu, Kajal Aggarwal, Suriya en Anuska Shetty.
