John Banville

John Banville (Wexford, 8 december 1945) is een Ierse schrijver.

The Book of Evidence, één van zijn vele werken, werd genomineerd voor de Booker Prize in 1989 en won in hetzelfde jaar de Guinness Peat Aviation Award. Met zijn roman The Sea won hij alsnog de Booker Prize in 2005.
Onder het pseudoniem Benjamin Black schrijft Banville misdaadromans.
