Zijn televisiefilm HORIZON (2016) won in 2016 het Gouden Kalf voor Beste TV-Drama. In 2017 regisseerde Giancarlo een aflevering van de serie Van God Los. In oktober 2018 ging de serie Mocro Maffia in premiere op streamingdienst Videoland.
In januari 2019 werd de absurdistische web-serie JOARDY SEASON gepresenteerd op YouTube. Dit was een samenwerking met Jim Deddes en Jan Hulst voor de VPRO. Hoofdregie was in handen van Sanchez.[1]
