Bidhya Devi Bhandari
Bidhya Devi Bhandari (Nepalees: विद्यादेवी भण्डारी; Mane Bhanjyang,19 juni 1961) is een Nepalese politica die op 28 oktober 2015 werd gekozen tot president van Nepal. Ze is de eerste vrouw die in Nepal dit ambt vervult.[1][2][3] Ze was de vicevoorzitter[4] van de Communistische Partij van Nepal (Verenigd Marxistisch-Leninistisch) voordat ze tot president werd verkozen (met 327 van de 549 parlementariërs versloeg ze tegenkandidaat Kul Bahadur Gurung). Eerder was ze al als eerste vrouw minister van defensie.[5]
