Zulu (mixtape)

Zulu (stylized in all caps as ZULU)[1] is the third mixtape by South African rapper Nasty C, hosted by American–Haitian DJ Whoo Kid. It was released through Audiomack,[2] My Mixtapez, and DatPiff on 25 June 2020 by Def Jam Recordings and Universal Music South Africa. The mixtape was announced via Nasty C and DJ Whoo Kid's social media on 24 June 2020. It features guest artists such as T.I., Mishlawi, and Crowned Yung. The mixtape includes the singles "They Don't",[3] and "Eazy".[4]

Background

The mixtape was released on June 25, 2020, by Def Jam and Universal Music Group, in anticipation of the release of Nasty C's third studio album Zulu Man with Some Power. The premiere was on 24 June 2020 via YouTube,[5] live by Nasty C and DJ Whoo Kid. The release event was held 2 hours before the official release of the mixtape, after the announcement was made via Nasty C's Instagram.

Singles

Nastu C released the mixtape's lead single, "They Don't", on 5 June 2020. It features American rapper T.I. and was produced by Audiomarc, Gemini Major, and Nasty C. The second single "Eazy" was released on 12 June 2020 and was produced by Blasian Beats.[6]
