XOYO was voted one of the world’s Top 100 Clubs by DJ Magazine in 2014[2] and 2015.[3]

In 2017, XOYO was nominated for Club of the Year at the Electronic Music Awards.

History

The two-room club opened in 2010,[4] occupying a converted print works.

It was bought and renovated by The Columbo Group[5] (who also own London venues The Nest, The Old Queens Head, Phonox, Paradise By Way Of Kensal Green, The Jazz Cafe and The Blues Kitchen) in August 2012, re-opening in September 2012.[6]

Style

The music policy varies from night to night, covering house, disco, techno and hip-hop.

Eats Everything became the club’s first resident in January 2015,[7] playing 3 months worth of consecutive Saturdays. The 2 Bears, Jackmaster, Simian Mobile Disco, Skream, Benji B, Bicep (electronic music duo), Tiga (musician), Heidi, Andy C, The Black Madonna and Erol Alkan have followed with residencies of their own.

XOYO hosts Benji B’s (Radio 1) clubnight Deviation on the first Friday of every month. The first Deviation at XOYO was held in February 2013. Artists Jamie xx, A$AP Rocky, Mos Def[8] and Moodymann[9] have all performed at Deviation.

In November 2014, XOYO launched Gloria’s[10] alongside polysexual East London collective Sink The Pink. A mixed gay and straight night, Breakbot, Dimitri From Paris, Kim Ann Foxman and Krystal Klear have all played previous parties.
