History

Formation and beginnings (2012–present)

Wynchester was formed in late 2012 as a side-project for Tenacious D guitarist John Konesky and Mike Bray. The term "Wynchester" originally referred to Bray and Konesky as a duo playing covers, but became an official band in early 2013 with their own original material.[1] Following eighteen months of performing shows around California, the duo released their first five-track EP in 2014 through the BandCamp music service, Spreading the Gospel of Good Times.[2] The band would release their debut self-titled album Wynchester in mid-2018 through the PledgeMusic service.[3]

Touring (2012–present)

For the first six years of their existence, the duo performed mainly small shows around California. They featured at Festival Supreme in Los Angeles in 2014, and toured Europe in 2018, supporting The Devon Allman Project as well as performing at the European Bike Week Festival at Lake Faak in Austria.[4] It was announced in June 2018 that Bray and Konesky would support Tenacious D on their fall Post-Apocalypto 2018 tour through the United States and Canada.[5]
